Questions & Answers
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about European windows, doors, and ordering with SwingTilt.
- What are tilt-turn windows?
- Tilt-turn windows use a single handle to do two things: tilt the top of the sash inward for secure ventilation, or swing the whole sash inward like a door to open fully and clean from inside. It's the standard window style across Europe.
- How much do European windows cost?
- Tilt-turn windows typically install for roughly $900–$1,800 each depending on size, glass, color and hardware — comparable to top American premium brands like Pella Reserve and Andersen E-Series, but with better core specs. Large lift & slide doors commonly run from around $8,000 into the $20,000+ range. The best way to budget is a free quote.
- How long does it take to get my windows?
- Because every window is made to order to your exact opening in the EU, plan on about 12 weeks from approval to delivery. We manage every step and you can track your order's stage online the whole way.
- Are European windows really more energy efficient?
- Yes. Aluplast tilt-turn windows reach U-factors around 0.12–0.15 — roughly twice as efficient as the best from Pella and Andersen (~0.25–0.30). They use 85mm multi-chamber frames and triple pane as standard.
- Do European windows meet US building codes?
- Quality European systems are manufactured to meet US standards, including NFRC energy ratings and egress requirements where applicable. We confirm the right specifications for your project and local code.
- What sizes and colors can I get?
- Nearly anything. Windows are built to your exact measurements in any RAL color or realistic woodgrain finish — and the color can differ inside and out. Lift & slide door panels go up to about 21 feet (6.5 m), and wider when combined.
- Do you install, or just supply the windows?
- We handle the full process — consultation, measuring, made-to-order manufacturing, and professional installation across Springfield and the surrounding Ozarks.
- How do I get started?
